Obverse description Densely packed Arabic calligraphic legend fills the central field, rendered in bold raised relief in the characteristic style of Arakanese hammered coinage. The inscription references Halal Shah in his capacity as governor of Chittagong, a subordinate authority under the Arakanese kingdom. The legend is enclosed within a beaded border running along the coin's periphery. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hand-struck production of the period.
