Obverse description Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic legend in calligraphic naskh script, set within a cartouche or oval frame divided by a horizontal line, with the shahada or royal titulature of Muhammad Shaybani Khan. The script is boldly struck in high relief typical of Shaybanid hammered coinage. A decorative border with floral or geometric motifs encircles the central inscription. The flan shows the characteristic irregularity of hand-struck medieval Central Asian silver coinage.
