Obverse description Central cartouche containing the Shahada and additional Arabic religious legend in bold naskh script, occupying the majority of the field. The cartouche is framed by a raised circular border composed of a continuous pellet or rope motif. Additional Arabic inscriptions fill the spaces between the cartouche and the border, typical of Shaybanid hammered coinage. The overall design is characteristic of the second standard type struck at the Hisar mint under Muhammad Shaybani Khan.
