Beschrijving keerzijde Epigraphic reverse featuring a bold multi-line Arabic legend in Naskh script arranged across the field, with the Islamic declaration of faith (Kalima) prominently occupying the central registers. A horizontal line divides the field into distinct inscription bands, with marginal legend encircling the periphery. The script is deeply struck and boldly rendered despite the worn surfaces of this billon flan, characteristic of Tughluq-period Delhi Sultanate fractional coinage.

Aanvullende informatie

Muhammad Shah bin Firuz Shah ruled during the terminal collapse of the Tughluq dynasty, a period so chaotic that multiple claimants held the Delhi throne within a single decade. His reign from 1390 to 1393 was itself the product of a nobles' conspiracy that deposed his brother Ghiyath ud-Din Tughluq II after barely a year. The billon coinage of this period reflects the dynasty's depleted treasury — silver content had been progressively debased across successive Tughluq reigns, never recovering from the monetary disasters of Muhammad bin Tughluq's token currency experiments earlier in the century.

Timur's invasion of 1398 was still years away, but the sultanate was already functionally ungovernable.
