| Obverse description | Hammered silver tanka struck on an irregularly shaped flan. The obverse presents the Islamic profession of faith (Shahada) in Arabic script, arranged within a rectilinear cartouche or panelled field typical of Shirvanshah coinage. The bold, angular calligraphy fills the central field, with subsidiary text or decorative elements distributed in the surrounding registers. The style is characteristic of late medieval Caucasian Islamic hammered coinage, with uneven flan edges and variable die alignment. |
