| Reverse description | The reverse displays a multi-line Arabic calligraphic inscription filling the central field, typical of Shaybanid silver coinage of the period. The central area bears the Shahada or a Quranic invocation rendered in bold, deeply struck naskh or nastaʿlīq script, with the mint name Marw and the AH regnal date disposed in surrounding lines. A marginal legend runs along the inner border, partially lost at the irregular flan edge due to the hand-hammered striking method. The relief is strong and well-defined at the centre, with some weakness toward the periphery consistent with the hammered technique. The epigraphic composition follows the standard Shaybanid die layout for tanka coinage of Khurasan. |
