| Obverse description | Central field bears the Kalima (Islamic profession of faith) inscribed in flowing Nasta'liq calligraphy within an irregular cartouche. The Arabic legend reads 'La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad rasul Allah' (There is no god but God, Muhammad is the messenger of God). The script is rendered in high relief against a plain field, characteristic of Shaybanid hammered coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly oval, consistent with hand-struck production methods of the period. No additional decorative border or ornamental devices are present. |
