Surrounding marginal inscriptions in Naskh script occupy the fields beyond the central cartouche, though many legends are obscured or distorted by the double-striking effect of the overlying countermark. The flan edges are notably irregular, consistent with hammered production and administrative revaluation practices of the Timurid mint at Samarqand. |
