Reverse description Central shield composition displaying three heraldic arms of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth: to the left, the Polish White Eagle; to the right, the Lithuanian Horseman (Pahonia); and below, the personal coat of arms of the Batory family (the Báthory dragon's teeth). The grouped shields are surmounted by a large royal crown. The date 1581 is divided across the field flanking the crown, with the denomination numeral 8 (signifying 8 groszy = 1 talar) placed in the lower portion of the field. The surrounding Latin legend reads MAG. DVX. LITVANIAE. PRVSSIAE. MASSO. SAM. LIVON. &c., separated by ornamental stops, all within a beaded border.
