| Obverse description | Armored bust of King Stefan Batory facing right, wearing articulated plate armor with a ruff collar and a crown, the king depicted with a short beard in the Renaissance portrait style. A scepter or baton is visible over the right shoulder. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detail in the armoring. A circular beaded border frames the design, with the Latin royal title legend running continuously around the periphery. |
