Obverse description Armored three-quarter bust of King Stefan Batory facing right, wearing a crown and elaborately decorated plate armor with ornamental pauldrons, holding a scepter over his right shoulder. The date 15-80 is divided by the bust, with 15 to the left and 80 to the right. A circular beaded border frames the design. The peripheral legend in Latin reads STEPHANVS D G REX POLONIAE, identifying the king by name and title.
