Obverse description Armored bust of King John II Casimir Vasa facing right, wearing an elaborate crown and a richly decorated breastplate with an ornamental collar, the portrait rendered in high relief in the Baroque style. The effigy fills the central field, with long curled hair falling to the shoulder. A beaded inner border separates the portrait from the peripheral Latin legend reading IOAN CASIM D G REX POL ET SUEC M D L RUS PR, abbreviated titles identifying him as King of Poland and Sweden and Grand Duke of Lithuania and Russia.
