Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Friedrich Christian, Prince-Elector of Saxony and Prince of Poland and Lithuania, rendered in high relief with elaborately curled periwig, armored pauldron, and ornate lace cravat. A small mintmaster's initial 'S' appears beneath the truncation. The encircling Latin legend reads D:G:FRID:CHRIST:PR:R:POL:&L DUX:SAX., identifying the issuer by the grace of God as Duke of Saxony and Prince of the Kingdom of Poland and Lithuania. The portrait displays the refined Baroque engraving style characteristic of mid-18th century Saxon coinage.
