Obverse description Crowned and draped bust of Jan II Kazimierz Waza facing right, depicted in armor with elaborate collar and long flowing hair, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The king wears a royal crown with jeweled arches above his effigy. The encircling Latin legend reads IOAN CAS DG REX POL & S M D L R, identifying the monarch as Jan Kazimierz, by God's grace King of Poland and Sweden, Grand Duke of Lithuania and Ruthenia. The portrait is rendered in the late Baroque style characteristic of mid-17th-century Polish coinage.
