Obverse description Central field displays the Prussian eagle displayed on a shield, with wings spread and head turned to the right, rendered in a bold late-Gothic style. The eagle is set within a beaded inner circle, beyond which runs a Gothic uncial legend around the coin's periphery. The overall design is characteristic of Prussian coinage struck under Polish suzerainty following the incorporation of Royal Prussia in 1454.
