Obverse description Central field dominated by the royal cypher comprising the conjoined initials S and R (Sigismundus Rex), surmounted by a large open royal crown with a cross finial. A small crowned shield bearing the Ciołek (ox-head) heraldic device of the Kraków mint-master is positioned beneath the cypher. Two small star-shaped ornaments flank the cypher in the field. No peripheral legend is present on this face.
