Obverse description Central field displays a crowned heraldic shield bearing the Polish eagle displayed, the bird rendered in the Gothic style characteristic of early sixteenth-century hammered coinage. The crown surmounting the shield is depicted in high relief with fleurs and crosses. The entire device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the royal legend disposed around the circumference in uncial Latin lettering.
