| Reverse description | Multiple lines of Arabic calligraphic inscription covering the entire reverse field, arranged in horizontal registers in a style consistent with early sixteenth-century Ottoman gold Sultani coinage. The text, rendered in a bold and fluid hand, contains the royal titles and mint formula. A characteristic tughra-like flourish or extended letterform is visible at the left margin. The flan is irregular and the strike slightly off-center, as is typical of hammered Ottoman gold issues of this period. |
