| Obverse description | Densely inscribed Arabic legend filling the entire field in multiple horizontal registers, bearing the royal tughra-style titulature of Sultan Suleiman I. The script is executed in a bold, angular hand characteristic of early Ottoman hammered gold coinage, with individual letter forms intertwining across the flan. The inscription names the sultan and asserts his sovereignty, contained within a plain, irregular circular border. The surface shows the typical uneven relief of hand-struck Islamic gold, with no figural imagery, consistent with Ottoman aniconic numismatic tradition. |
