| Obverse description | Hammered gold flan bearing a multi-line Arabic legend arranged in four horizontal registers across the field, with additional inscriptions along the upper periphery. The legends are executed in a bold, angular Ottoman naskh script characteristic of early 17th-century Anatolian and Levantine mint production. The royal titulature of Sultan Ahmed I ibn Mehmed Khan occupies the central registers, accompanied by the invocatory formula 'Azze nasruhu' (May his victory be glorified). The mint name 'Halab' (Aleppo) and the accession year 1012 AH appear in the lower register. The coin's irregular flan edge retains the typical characteristics of hand-struck Ottoman gold coinage. |
