Reverse description Central field displays a three-line Arabic Kufic legend naming the ruler Muhammad b. al-Qasim with his honorific title al-Nasir li-Din Allah ('the Supporter of the Religion of God'), arranged in horizontal registers within a plain inner circle. A beaded border separates the central field from the marginal legend, which carries a Quranic citation (Rum 30:4-5) referencing God's command and the rejoicing of the believers. The coin exhibits the typical hammered technique of early medieval Yemeni Islamic coinage, with a somewhat irregular flan and bold, angular script.
