| Opis awersu | Central field occupied by four horizontal lines of Arabic Kufic script arranged within a linear border, with the Islamic profession of faith (Shahada) and the name of the ruling imam. Two small circular holes are pierced through the flan at the left and right margins, suggesting secondary use as an ornament or garment attachment. The central inscription is enclosed within a single linear circle, itself surrounded by an outer beaded or rope-pattern border following the irregular circumference of the hammered flan. The overall die work is characteristic of early Rassid coinage, with bold, slightly irregular lettering typical of provincial Yemeni mint production. |
