Reverse description Central field bears a multi-line Arabic inscription in angular Kufic script, arranged in horizontal registers within a single inner border, identifying the Caliph al-Muttaqi as Commander of the Faithful. The reverse legend reads 'al-Muttaqi / lillah amir / al-mu'minin', conferring the caliphal title in the standard Abbasid formula. The overall design follows the aniconic tradition of Abbasid fractional silver coinage, with no decorative motifs beyond the inscriptions. The flan is small and irregular, consistent with the sudaysi denomination. The Kufic letterforms are compact and somewhat roughly struck, as expected for a low-denomination hammered piece of this period.
