| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing crowned bust of John of Leuven rendered in the medieval sterling tradition, depicted with long flowing hair falling to the shoulders and a simple crown or diadem across the brow. The effigy is executed in low relief with schematic facial features typical of hammered Low Countries sterlings of the late 13th century. Word dividers in the form of pellets or annulets separate the elements of the inscription.
