Obverse description Central device depicting a crenellated castle gatehouse flanked by two towers, rendered in a stylized Gothic manner characteristic of 14th-century Low Countries coinage. A small annelet appears below the gateway entrance. The entire castle composition is set within a quadrilobe formed by four cusped arches, creating a decorative inner frame. The surrounding field between the quadrilobe and the beaded inner circle is plain. The circumferential legend in uncial characters is separated from the inner design by a beaded border.
