The effigy is set within a beaded inner circle, with the head occupying the central field. A cross pattee divides the outer legend into four sections, its arms extending to the beaded border. | Beschrijving keerzijde | A long cross pattee extending fully to the outer beaded border divides the reverse field into four quadrants, each containing a group of three pellets arranged in a triangular formation. The design follows the classic sterling type derived from English Edwardian prototypes. The mint name legend, reading MЄL* BOD IЄN SIS (Maubege), is distributed across the four quarters of the field separated by the cross arms, in characteristic medieval Low Countries hammered coinage style. |
