| Beschrijving voorzijde | The field is entirely occupied by a quartered shield bearing the combined arms of Brabant and Limburg, each quarter displaying a passant lion. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, with the ducal heraldic lions rendered in a bold, stylized Gothic manner characteristic of late 13th-century Low Countries coinage. The circumferential legend, in uncial Latin, runs between the inner and outer beaded borders. The overall design fills the flan with little open field, reflecting the dense heraldic style of the period. |
