| Beschrijving voorzijde | At center, the rampant lion of Brabant faces left within a pointed shield, rendered in a bold, stylized Gothic manner typical of late 13th-century Low Countries coinage. The shield is charged with the lion passant rampant, its forelegs raised and tail curled, with detailed claw and mane treatment visible in the hammered relief. The surrounding legend, divided into three segments by the shield's edges, reads in uncial Latin characters. The overall design is characteristic of the feudal coinage issued under Duke John I of Brabant. |
