| Reverse description | A bold long cross with ornamental trefoil terminals at each arm occupies the central field, with a small pellet or quatrefoil at the center, surrounded by an inner beaded circle. The surrounding legend, partially legible, reads + MONETA[..] NOVA[..] VA, indicating a nova moneta type inscription typical of Rhenish sterling coinage of the period. The flan is irregular and the strike uneven, consistent with hand-hammered production of the late medieval era. |
