| Reverse description | Long cross pattée extending to the inner beaded circle, dividing the reverse field into four quadrants, each containing three pellets arranged in a triangular grouping — a design directly derived from the English long-cross sterling type. A second outer beaded circle frames the circular Latin legend referencing Lorraine. The cross terminates at the beaded border, and the pellet arrangement within each quarter is clearly struck. The overall design reflects the widespread continental imitation of English Edwardian sterlings common in the Rhine and Lorraine regions during the early 14th century. |
