The design retains vestigial elements of the laureate head — including curvilinear hair strands and a prominent curved outline suggesting the profile — but these are thoroughly deconstructed into abstract geometric forms. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with a green-gold electrum surface patina consistent with the mixed alloy composition. |
