Stater with tent Class II

The Osismii occupied the westernmost tip of Armorica — roughly modern Finistère — placing them at the geographic and cultural edge of the Gaulish world. Their coinage circulated within a region so peripheral that Roman contact came late and incompletely, and the Class II designation within this series reflects a typological progression tracked largely through hoard evidence rather than historical documentation. The Tréhou and Kerviltré hoards have done the most to establish the relative sequencing of Osismian stater classes.

Electrum composition in this period was rarely consistent alloy — gold content varied hoard to hoard, suggesting decentralized production or deliberate debasement over the series' lifespan.
