背面描述 A ram's head in left profile, depicted in fine archaic style, set within a dotted inner square border, itself contained within a shallow incuse square. A small symbol, possibly a mark of value or control mark, appears in the upper left corner of the dotted square. The composition is deeply recessed in typical Lycian dynastic incuse fashion, with no surrounding legend.

附加信息

Lycian dynastic coinage of this period occupies a genuinely awkward place in numismatic attribution — the issuing authority remains unresolved, caught between a cluster of minor rulers whose names survive only partially in Aramaic or Greek inscriptions on other objects. The Müseler classification places this among the earliest wave of Lycian silver, issued when the region operated as a collection of semi-independent dynasts nominally subject to Achaemenid Persia following Cyrus's western campaigns of the 540s BC.

The SNG von Aulock 4078 reference points to a specimen with a reverse incuse of notably irregular punch geometry — a characteristic of dies cut in Xanthos or its immediate orbit during precisely this twenty-year window.
