| Beschrijving keerzijde | A crab is depicted in high relief facing forward, centered within a shallow incuse square, a hallmark of early Lycian coinage technique. The carapace is rendered with a broad, slightly convex outline, and the ten legs are spread symmetrically to either side in naturalistic detail. The large chelae are prominently raised and extended, flanking the upper portion of the carapace. The incuse square has a plain flat surface surrounding the crab, contrasting with the raised relief of the type. The overall design is bold and well-articulated, consistent with the archaic-to-early-Classical stylistic tradition of southwestern Anatolian coinage. |
