Additional information

Trbbenimi ruled Podalia — a minor Lycian dynastic seat in the Milyas region — during a period when the satrapal wars and shifting Persian overlordship made political allegiance among Lycian dynasts genuinely dangerous. The epithet Zagaba, appearing on issues attributed to him, remains imperfectly understood; it may denote a title, a place, or a honorific rooted in the Lycian language, and scholars have not reached consensus. His coinage is rare enough that die studies remain incomplete.
