Obverse description Bare head of the Roman Emperor Tiberius facing left, rendered in the provincial Hellenistic style typical of Bosporan coinage. The portrait displays characteristic curly hair arranged over the forehead and a slightly draped shoulder visible at the truncation. The abbreviation ΧΕΡ (for Chersonas) appears to the left of the bust in the field, identifying the issuing city. A dotted or beaded border frames the design on the irregular flan. The engraving reflects the hybrid Greco-Roman artistic tradition prevalent in the northern Black Sea region during the early Imperial period.
