背面描述 A deep incuse square divided into irregular geometric compartments by raised ridges forming a rough mill-sail or quadripartite pattern, characteristic of early Archaic coinage technique. The incuse is deeply struck and roughly finished, with the raised ridges creating an asymmetric recessed design within a well-defined square border. The surface within the compartments is uneven and granular, reflecting the primitive striking methods of the late 6th century BC. No inscription or subsidiary device is present. This type of incuse reverse is typical of early Thraco-Macedonian silver coinage of the period.

附加信息

Siris and Lete are both candidates for this issue, and the attribution has shifted between them more than once in the scholarly literature. What is not disputed is the broader context: this region of Thraco-Macedonia in the late sixth century was producing some of the heaviest and most technically accomplished silver coinages in the Greek world, funded largely by proximity to the silver and gold deposits of the Pangaion massif. The Rosen collection specimen and the AMNG III classification reflect two separate cataloguing traditions that have never fully reconciled on the issuing authority.
