| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing left, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, rendered in the Archaic Greek style characteristic of Cypriot coinage. The facial features are modeled in low relief, with the cheek-guards of the helmet framing the face. The neck and lower portion of the bust are visible, with folds of drapery suggested at the truncation. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, as typical of hammered silver issues from ancient Cyprus. |
