Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Sauromates II facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic-Pontic tradition with curling hair and a short beard. The king wears a diadem and a draped garment visible at the shoulder. The effigy is executed in high relief with expressive facial detail typical of Bosporan royal portraiture. A beaded border frames the entire field. The Greek royal legend encircles the bust reading ΒΑCΙΛΕΩC CΑΥΡΟΜΑΤΟΥ.
