Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of King Rhoemetalces facing right, with a full beard and flowing hair rendered in the Hellenistic tradition. A trident symbol appears in the field to the right of the bust, serving as a mint or regnal control mark. The circular Greek legend ΒΑϹΙΛΕΩϹ ΡΟΙΜΗΤΑΛΚΟΥ runs along the periphery, reading '[coin] of King Rhoemetalces.' The portrait exhibits the characteristic blending of Hellenistic royal iconography with local Bosporan stylistic conventions.
