| Obverse description | Diademed and draped bust of King Rheskuporis IV facing right, jugate with a laureate bust of a Roman emperor (Valerian or Gallienus) also facing right, rendered in the debased provincial style characteristic of late Bosporan coinage. The effigies are set within a beaded border, with the Greek legend ΒΑCΙΛΕΩC ΡΗCΚΥΠΟΡΙΔΟC disposed around the periphery of the field. The die work is typical of third-century Bosporan production, combining Hellenistic portraiture conventions with a marked barbarization of style. The coin exhibits the greenish-grey patina consistent with its billon alloy. |

| Reverse description | The reverse depicts a enthroned figure, likely a deity or personification, facing left and holding attributes, accompanied by a horse or quadruped to the right, all within a beaded border. The composition is rendered in the highly stylized, somewhat barbarized manner typical of Bosporan staters of the mid-third century AD. The regnal year numeral ΞΦ (560 of the Bosporan Era, corresponding to 264 AD) appears in the field, serving as the primary dating element. The overall execution reflects the decline in engraving quality characteristic of this period of Bosporan coinage. |
