Obverse description Boeotian shield rendered in high relief, depicted face-on with the characteristic double cutout arm-holes at left and right. The shield's curved outline and hollowed side notches are boldly modeled, filling the flan. The surface of the shield boss is smooth and convex, with a raised inner border delineating the rim. The design is executed in the archaic Boeotian tradition, with no inscription or additional devices in the field.

Reverse description Within a deep incuse concave circle, an amphora is depicted in the lower field. Vine foliage with tendrils appears above the amphora. The magistrate's name is distributed across the field in two segments flanking the central device. The entire composition is contained within the incuse square or circular punch characteristic of early Greek coinage from Thebes.
