| Beschrijving voorzijde | Helmeted head of Athena in right profile, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, adorned with a coiled serpent on the bowl and a decorative palmette at the nape. The goddess's hair falls in loose, wavy locks beneath the helmet, framing a finely modeled face with a straight nose and slightly parted lips. The cheek-pieces of the helmet are raised, fully exposing the face. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the characteristic Macedonian die-engraving style of the late 4th century BC. |
