| Obverse description | Diademed and youthful bare-headed portrait bust of Mithridates VI Eupator facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic royal tradition with idealized features evoking Alexander the Great. The king's abundant, flowing locks are depicted with exceptional sculptural relief, tumbling in thick, dynamic curls across the nape and forehead in a characteristic leonine coiffure. A plain diadem is tied across the brow, its ends trailing behind the head. The portrait is executed with fine die-cutting, displaying a strong, prominent nose, a firm chin, and a resolute expression befitting a powerful Hellenistic monarch.
