Obverse description Facing lion's scalp rendered in high relief, with the mane depicted in bold striated ridges radiating from the crown of the head. The broad, flat muzzle is powerfully modeled, with prominent brow ridges and deeply set eye sockets rendered in the characteristic Lycian artistic style. The furrowed forehead and flattened facial plane are characteristic of this dynastic coinage type, conveying both naturalistic detail and stylized monumentality. The flan is irregular, as is typical of hammered silver issues of this period.
