Obverse description A prancing horse depicted in profile facing right, rendered in high relief with fine naturalistic detail. The mane is carefully delineated with incised lines, and the musculature of the body is boldly modelled. The horse's forelegs are raised in a lively, dynamic gallop, conveying energy and motion. The field is otherwise plain, with no legend or subsidiary devices. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, characteristic of early Thracian silver coinage.
