Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing a Attic-style crested helmet adorned with a prominent coiled serpent at the bowl and an elaborate plume falling to the left. The goddess's hair escapes beneath the helmet in fine engraved locks, and she wears a pearl necklace visible at the neck. The effigy is rendered in high relief with confident, idealized Hellenistic portraiture, filling the flan with no surrounding legend.

Reverse description Nike standing facing left in three-quarter view, her large wings spread behind her, dressed in a chiton and himation with finely engraved drapery folds. She extends her right arm forward to crown a trophy or mast with a wreath, while her left hand holds a ship's stylis or standard. To the left, the vertical legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ and below a monogram; to the right, the vertical legend ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ; a control mark K appears to the lower right of the central figure. The composition follows the Alexandrine Nike type, adapted for the coinage of Lysimachos.
