| Beschrijving keerzijde | A triskeles motif, consisting of three interlocked running legs or spiraling arms radiating from a central boss, struck in high relief within a dotted border square. The dotted square is itself contained within a deeper incuse square, a hallmark technique of early Lycian dynastic silver coinage. The bold, rotational design of the triskeles fills the inner square effectively, conveying vigorous movement. The incuse surround is deeply impressed, contrasting sharply with the raised inner design. The execution reflects the archaic Lycian die-cutting tradition of the mid-fifth century BC. |
