| Obverse description | Confronted foreparts of a lion and a bull, facing one another back to back within a plain field. The lion, depicted to the right with open jaws and a scaly mane, dominates the composition in bold relief, while the bull forepart faces left with characteristic Lydian artistic stylization. The design is rendered in a vigorous, archaic style with deeply modeled musculature, characteristic of the royal Lydian coinage attributed to King Kroisos. |

| Reverse description | Plain reverse bearing three incuse rectangular punches produced by the minting process: two smaller square punches flanking a larger central oblong depression, all deeply impressed into the flat surface.
