Obverse description Boeotian shield depicted facing, rendered in high relief with characteristic concave central boss and two lateral cutouts, set within a plain raised border. The shield's distinctive outline, emblematic of the Boeotian League, dominates the entire flan. The surface of the shield is smooth and slightly convex, with the incised cutout notches flanking the central oval boss clearly defined. The overall design is bold and unadorned, consistent with the conservative artistic tradition of Boeotian federal coinage.
